Monday, May 22nd, 2023 marks the first day to pull nominating petitions for the October 05, 2023 election. Brian E. Harris, Democratic candidate for Memphis City Council Super District 8-3, will be riding with twenty five supporters on a party bus as many others follow via their own vehicles from the Peabody Place to the Election Commission located at 157 Poplar Ave to pull his petition today at 3:15p.

“It’s important that I not only share this moment with my family but also my supporters that live in Super District 8-3. They are eager to see new leadership that will be dedicated to focusing on our youth, decreasing crime in our communities, and providing additional resources for the betterment of our families. As Chairman Martavius Jones terms out, I want to continue his efforts in being a champion for our youth and senior citizens,” said Brian E. Harris

Harris officially announced his run for Memphis City Council Super District 8, Position 3 on February 4th, 2023. He is a lifelong Memphian and product of Memphis City Schools. Harris has spent over twenty years building and developing teams professionally while also being a staple amongst the community. He currently serves as an Omni Channel Director with Best Buy Incorporated and on the board of the Memphis Alcohol Commission since 2021.
